- Knowledge of computerized payroll systems and related applications, both outsourced and in-house

- Prior experience supporting high-volume employers

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience using ADP Smart Compliance and strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of tax-related payroll applications and compliance tools
- Working knowledge of expatriate and international payrolls preferred
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) certification preferred
- Familiarity with tax regulations related to foreign-national employees
- Understanding of payroll tax compliance for domestic and international work forces
The Sr. Payroll Tax Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing payroll tax compliance across multiple states and company entities, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time and that all payroll tax filings and deposits are completed correctly. This person works closely with ADP and other third‑party providers, reconciles payroll tax data on a regular basis, monitors payroll tax payments, researches and resolves tax‑related issues, and manages the setup of new tax jurisdictions.
The role also ensures employee tax information is accurate, stays current on changing tax laws, provides recommendations to leadership, and supports payroll tax initiatives related to mergers, acquisitions, and organizational changes.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of payroll tax records to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll tax payments, filings, and reporting in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Register and close payroll tax accounts and maintain tax jurisdiction records, notices, logins, and passwords
- Serve as the subject matter expert for payroll and payroll tax‑related matters
- Assist with researching and setting up new tax jurisdictions as needed
- Work closely with taxing agencies and ADP to research and resolve tax issues and tracers
- Assist payroll staff with complex payroll issues, tax analysis, data corrections, and related adjustments
- Work with Legal to register new states with the Secretary of State
- Respond directly to tax agencies regarding items not filed by ADP
$90,000 to $110,000
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
