Payroll Consultant - Manager​/Director Level

RemX is seeking a highly skilled Senior Payroll Operations/SOP Consultant to support a Pasadena-based client through a critical payroll transformation initiative. This role is ideal for a strategic, tech‑savvy payroll leader who excels in cross‑department collaboration and enjoys building structure, documentation, and automation within complex environments.

• Lead the creation of high-level, detailed SOPs across all payroll-related processes.
• Conduct deep‑dive meetings with all internal departments to fully understand current procedures.
• Assess existing manual workflows and help guide the transition toward more automated, efficient systems.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure processes are accurate, compliant, and scalable.
• Serve as a communication bridge across HR, finance, and operational teams to ensure clarity and alignment.

• 5+ years of experience in payroll leadership
• Proven ability to build and document detailed SOPs for complex payroll operations.
• Strong communication skills; proactive approach; comfortable leading discovery conversations with multiple departments.
• Demonstrated experience supporting transitions from manual to automated payroll systems.
• Tech-savvy mindset with the ability to quickly adapt to new tools and processes.
• Experience with JDE or Oracle Cloud is preferred, but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail—someone who can translate complex processes into clear, actionable documentation.
