The AWS Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) seeks a Buyer experienced in fast‑paced research and development procurement to support our cloud quantum computing services. The role collaborates with finance, import/export, legal, development and engineering teams to manage the procurement of heavy machinery, lab supplies, testing equipment, capital assets, chemicals, scientific equipment, and vacuum systems.
Responsibilities- Develop and issue RFPs/RFIs, negotiate contracts, and create purchase orders.
- Manage BPO and other procurement expenses.
- Prepare NDAs and coordinate with import/export teams for compliance.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to define problems and execute technical and business opportunities.
- Communicate progress and risks to senior executives through written and oral reports.
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration, or operations.
- Proficiency with procurement systems and financial applications.
- Experience creating metrics and presenting data.
- Track record of improving processes and scalability.
- Hands‑on experience executing process, technology, or operations improvement initiatives.
- Managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and time management.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and willingness to learn proprietary systems.
- Bias for action: decisive, timely decision‑making, and initiative.
- Persuasive, influential, and able to build constructive relationships.
- Significant prior experience in procurement or shared services center, BPO, or program management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation and BenefitsSalary range: $70,400 – $94,000 annually. The total compensation package includes sign‑on payments, restricted stock units, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Additional benefits include health, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, and mental health support.
