The Assistant Superintendent/Vice President for Student Services serves as the College's Chief Student Services Officer and provides executive leadership, vision, and strategic direction for all student services, enrollment services, equity and access initiatives, and holistic student support programs. Reporting to the Superintendent/President and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President is responsible for shaping the institution's student experience;

advancing equitable access, retention, completion, and post‑completion success; and ensuring that student‑centered practices are integrated throughout the College.

The Vice President leads a comprehensive division that supports the educational journey of a diverse student population through enrollment management, counseling and student development, basic needs and wrap‑around support, accessibility and health services, equity‑based programs, and student life and engagement. The role provides strategic leadership in developing innovative and inclusive service delivery models; aligning student services with instructional programs and institutional goals;

leveraging data and institutional research to remove barriers and close equity gaps; and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations governing student support.

In partnership with the Vice President of Instruction, the Vice President for Student Services fosters a cohesive, student‑ready institutional culture; advances integrated academic and student support strategies; and collaborates closely with campus and community stakeholders to promote learning, belonging, and student achievement. The position represents the College at regional and statewide levels, strengthens community partnerships, and ensures that all student services contribute meaningfully to the College's mission, vision, and long‑term strategic priorities.

Functions
  • Serves as the District's Chief Student Services Officer, providing executive leadership for student services and support programs in alignment with District mission, goals, and policies.
  • Directs, evaluates, and strengthens all student services operations, ensuring effective delivery of programs that promote access, equity, retention, completion, and student success.
  • Leads the development and implementation of district‑wide student success, access, and completion strategies, using data to drive continuous improvement and equitable outcomes.
  • Provides executive oversight of student support services, discipline, and due process to ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant practices that protect student rights.
  • Leads assessment of Student Learning Outcomes and Student Services/Support Outcomes to ensure programs are effective, responsive, and aligned with institutional goals.
  • Works collaboratively with the Vice President of Instruction and other executives to align instructional and student support services, strengthening academic pathways, transfer, and degree and certificate completion.
  • Directs development and oversight of student services budgets and categorical funding to ensure fiscal accountability, audit compliance, and alignment with program objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, Board policies, and accreditation standards; recommends policy updates and supports shared governance processes.
  • Leads development of comprehensive, equity‑driven programs designed to close equity gaps and support disproportionately impacted student populations.
  • Ensures delivery of holistic support services, including counseling, basic needs, disability services, health and mental health services, veteran services, and international student support.
  • Builds and maintains partnerships with community organizations, K‑12 districts, four‑year institutions, and regional agencies to expand student opportunities and support pathways.
