Under the direction of the Lead Camp Facilitator, the Activities Enrichment Assistant supports the planning and delivery of engaging, educational day camp experiences for students in grades 4–8. This role assists with daily camp operations, leads small groups of students during themed activities, supports classroom and behavior management, and helps ensure camp learning objectives are met in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
The camps are held in Lancaster, CA. The camp dates are May–August 2026. This is a temporary position and the tentative schedule is 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This position is ideal for energetic, outgoing individuals who enjoy working with youth, take initiative, and thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on learning environment.
- Assist the Lead Camp Facilitator in implementing daily schedules, lessons, and activities across multiple educational camp themes.
- Lead and supervise small groups of students during instructional, recreational, and enrichment activities.
- Support classroom management and positive behavior strategies to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Encourage student participation, teamwork, and engagement through high‑energy facilitation.
- Help students transition between activities, locations, and group settings smoothly.
- Prepare, distribute, organize, and clean up instructional materials and supplies.
- Monitor student safety at all times during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Respond to student needs and challenges with patience, care, and professionalism.
- Assist with attendance, headcounts, and basic documentation as required.
- Support the development of students’ social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Communicate effectively with lead staff regarding student progress, concerns, or incidents.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and pre‑camp preparation sessions.
- Perform general cleanup and organization of camp spaces.
- Administer basic first aid when needed and report injuries or concerns to the Lead Facilitator.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- College coursework in education, child development, recreation, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience working with children or youth in grades 4–8 (school, camp, after‑school, tutoring, coaching, or similar settings).
- Experience leading or assisting with group activities is highly desirable.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check (Live Scan).
- TB clearance prior to employment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
Pay Rate: $18.25 per hour.
