Job Overview

Option for Youth (OFY) is a network of free public charter schools that provide flexible, personalized learning for students in grades 7-12. We seek passionate educators who prioritize the student‑teacher relationship and want to impact students’ academic, social, and emotional well‑being.

• Deliver the educational program ensuring data‑driven, results‑based instruction aligned with Common Core Standards.
• Provide direct instruction for 6 hours a day and teach mastery of the Common Core Standards in a single‑subject content area.
• Develop differentiated lesson plans and curriculum to support student success.
• Use assessments and data to inform instruction, maintain grade, attendance, and retention records.
• Provide targeted interventions for special education students and English Language Learners.
• Participate in community groups, faculty meetings, professional development, conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Assist with state‑mandated student testing and meet with students and parents to discuss progress and concerns.

• BA/BS degree.
• California Preliminary or Clear single‑subject teaching credential with English Language Authorization (ELA).
• Experience teaching in a data‑driven, results‑based environment is preferred.
• Intern eligibility is welcomed.

Salary Range: $68,000 – $95,000.

Location:

Pasadena, CA / City of Industry, CA.
