Starting Pay Range $30.00 - $42.50 per hour, depending on experience.
Job SummaryWith an emphasis serving schools with diverse and low socioeconomic student populations and non-traditional learning environments, Skyrocket leadership has over a century's worth of combined experience leading schools and operational support teams. Skyrocket's niche expertise is in the intersection between academic and administrative performance. This role will support the virtual needs of the Cosmetology CTE program to high school students. Tentative schedule:
Monday-Thursday 9-11 am at the Carmichael Center (8 hrs of instruction), two days at the Arden location 2-4pm (4 hrs of instruction). 15+ hours per week including grading and instruction.
- Instruct students in specific CTE Pathways, using various teaching methods, audiovisual aids, and other hands-on materials.
- Prepare an outline for the course of study, following curriculum guidelines or state and department requirements.
- Counsel students in adjustment and academic problems.
- Develop CTE lessons for the course curriculum.
- Manage, document, and support any student clinical hours needed for certification.
- Participate in various community groups or functions, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
- Connect with students and parents to discuss student progress and address any issues.
- Administer tests to evaluate pupil progress, assess student work product, and record results.
- Maintain attendance records and student grades.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, inviting, professional center for students to attend.
- Perform other administrative functions and duties assigned.
- Create community, college, and business relationships that lead to partnerships benefiting the students and improving the course capstones.
- Continue to gain industry experience.
- Ability to teach and delegate responsibility to students.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment, in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision.
- Superior organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to synergize with field and corporate staff to implement the educational program.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills, while maintaining courtesy, professionalism, and a customer service attitude.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with students, parents, co-workers, and business contacts courteously and professionally.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Google, and database management.
- Must hold a valid CA Driver’s License and be able to clear a driving record screen.
- Minimum preliminary CTE Credential in Fashion and Interior Design, or ability and willingness to obtain a CTE Credential.
- At least 3 years of industry experience.
- Teaching experience preferred.
