Pasadena City College (PCC) is hiring multiple full‑time Nursing Instructors simultaneously, creating a unique opportunity to join a cohort of faculty who will help shape the future of one of Southern California’s most respected community college nursing programs. Reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences, this is a one‑year, 10‑month, full‑time faculty appointment beginning Fall 2026. Candidates who complete the first year and are hired into a tenure‑track position will have fulfilled one of the four years required to obtain tenure. Additional teaching opportunities may be available through summer sessions, winter intersession, overload assignments, and expanded instructional responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Create lesson plans that align with and support the attainment of predefined student learning outcomes, including learning activities and assignments for classroom, laboratory, and clinical learning, supervision of students in clinical practice, and debriefing conferences regarding patient care.
- Develop assessment tools to evaluate student learning, progress, and performance and participate in the development and assessment of student learning outcomes to improve teaching and learning.
- Coordinate and manage assigned courses, including class schedules, course syllabi, LMS content, course assignments, examinations, and related instructional activities.
- Plan and schedule teaching activities for theory, laboratory, simulation, and clinical learning in alignment with curriculum and program learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student academic and clinical performance, hold students accountable for required competencies, and assist students in remediation to acquire and maintain competence.
- Participate in curriculum development and maintenance to ensure course content reflects current knowledge in the discipline and incorporates cultural diversity considerations and instructional best practices.

Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of nursing education regulations and accreditation standards for prelicensure nursing education (e.g., ACEN accreditation standards).
- Ability to teach using a variety of instructional methodologies and adapt pedagogical approaches to meet the needs of students with differing learning styles and abilities.
- Ability to motivate students to excel in theory, laboratory, simulation, and clinical coursework.
- Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Clinical experience in Medical Surgical and specialty nursing, including direct patient care experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a multiethnic environment with students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting student success, including working with basic skills students and fostering inclusive learning environments.
- Willingness to teach across programs within the nursing discipline, including LVN and CNA programs, and to develop expertise in additional nursing specialty areas based on program needs.
