Adapted PE Teacher

Starting Pay Range: $24.00 - $39.50 per hour, depending on experience.

• Provide adapted physical education instruction to meet student needs and goals as specified on the IEP. In physical fitness, gross motor skills, perceptual motor skills, and sports and games achievement.
• Provide individualized assessment and instruction in neuromotor development, gross motor skills and abilities, physical fitness, games and sports, and other recreation and leisure activities.
• Provide consultation and training to parents and staff regarding adapted physical education techniques.
• Document student progress and present levels of performance by standardized, formal, curriculum-based, anecdotal and/or teacher‑made assessments.
• Seek technical assistance and consultation as needed from colleagues, program support specialists, and the Special Education Leadership Team.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and community.
• Ability to speak clearly and concisely in written or oral communication.

BA/BS Degree.

Valid California Teaching Credential in Adapted Physical Education.
