Polytechnic School is seeking a motivated, experienced, and student-centered head coach to lead our varsity girls soccer program. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing all aspects of the program — from daily practice planning and game-day coaching to fostering a culture of academic excellence, sportsmanship, and competitive achievement. This individual will serve as a mentor and role model for our student-athletes both on and off the field.
Responsibilities Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
Plan and conduct organized, safe, and purposeful practices for the varsity girls' soccer team Develop individual player skills, team systems, and tactical game plans appropriate for the varsity level
Manage game-day operations, including lineup decisions, in-game adjustments, and post-game evaluations
Monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and support the school's commitment to scholar-athletes
Communicate regularly with the athletic director, parents/guardians, and school administration
Uphold all school, league, and CIF rules and regulations; maintain compliance at all times
Assist with player recruitment and program promotion in coordination with the athletics department
Engage robustly in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion to promote a healthy learning environment;
Willingness to take on other duties as needed.
Physical requirements and work environment
Work in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges and deadlines, as well as a diverse array of contacts;
Work outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold Ability to lift up to 30 pounds;
