Adjunct Professor – Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education (MA ECE) Program

Part‑time, 20–24 hours per week, hourly rate $25.00–$28.00.

The Department of Early Childhood Education prepares educators who are dedicated to equity, inclusion, and the well‑being of children, families, and communities. The Adjunct Professor delivers graduate‑level instruction that bridges theory and professional practice, supporting adult learners through equity‑centered, constructivist, and trauma‑informed pedagogy.

• Teach graduate‑level Early Childhood Education courses within the MA program.
• Engage adult learners through inclusive and constructive pedagogy.
• Assess student learning, maintain accurate records, and contribute to program assessment.
• Foster respectful and supportive learning environments.
• Communicate professionally with students and academic leadership.

• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in Early Childhood Education.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in an online format using a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas).
• Commitment to Pacific Oaks College’s mission and social justice values.

• Doctorate in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Publications or research in early childhood education.
• Proficiency in Canvas LMS, Microsoft Office Suite, and online teaching tools.

Flexible: eligible for flexible work arrangements, allowing the professor to choose the work location based on role requirements and team needs.

The total base compensation is $25.00–$28.00 per hour. Benefits may include medical and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement plan with employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement.
