ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Design
- Support Project Managers in team supervision and execution of complex structural engineering projects
- Apply fundamental engineering knowledge and practical experience to design structures for private and public clients
- Conduct structural analysis and perform independent design checks
- Prepare comprehensive plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E)
- Develop structural detailing and construction documentation
- Participate in planning studies and feasibility assessments
You will contribute to a diverse range of infrastructure projects including:
- Transit aerial and underground stations
- Freeway and interchange bridges
- Railroad bridges
- Pedestrian bridges
- Bridge widening and rehabilitation projects
- Earth retaining structures
- Underground tunnels and subsurface structures
- Sound walls and noise barriers
- Pump plants and water infrastructure
- Flood control structures
- Aviation infrastructure
- Utility structures
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
Experience
- 1-5 years of structural engineering experience
- Knowledge of public works agencies and project delivery processes
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency with industry standards and codes including Metro MRDC, AASHTO, Caltrans Manuals, AISC, ACI, IBC, ASCE, and local building codes
- Skilled in SAP
2000 structural analysis software - Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) License in California
