    • Develop and review key design deliverables, including:
      • One‑line diagrams and three‑line diagrams
      • AC and DC system layouts
      • Equipment specifications (battery systems, inverters, transformers, switch gear)
      • Grounding, protection, and control schemes
    • Define system architecture (DC‑coupled vs. AC‑coupled configurations)
  • Power Systems & Interconnection
    • Support interconnection processes and utility coordination
    • Review and interpret system impact studies and facility studies
    • Coordinate or perform studies such as:
      • Load flow
      • Short circuit
      • Protection coordination
      • Harmonic analysis
    • Ensure compliance with utility and ISO/RTO requirements (e.g., CAISO, WECC)
  • Multi‑Discipline Coordination
    • Coordinate with civil, structural, and transmission teams for:
      • Site layout and grading constraints
      • Equipment foundations and trenching
      • High‑voltage interconnection design
    • Interface with OEM vendors (battery suppliers, inverter manufacturers)
  • Project Delivery
    • Support project lifecycle from development through IFC (Issued for Construction) design
    • Prepare engineering packages, drawings, and technical reports
    • Support procurement by developing technical specifications and evaluating bids
    • Assist in project scheduling, cost estimating, and risk identification
  • Construction & Commissioning Support
    • Respond to RFIs and support field engineering during construction
    • Review shop drawings and vendor submittals
    • Support commissioning activities and system energization
  • Client Interface
    • Serve as a technical lead in client meetings and design reviews
    • Support proposals, scope development, and level‑of‑effort estimates
    • Provide technical guidance to clients on BESS technologies and design decisions
  • Mentorship & Leadership
    • Mentor junior engineers and designers
    • Support development of internal standards, templates, and best practices
    • Contribute to building E2's renewable and storage engineering capabilities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • 7‑12+ years of relevant experience in power systems, renewables, or energy storage
  • Demonstrated experience in utility‑scale BESS or solar + storage projects
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical systems
    • Inverter‑based resources (IBRs)
    • Protection and controls
  • Experience with power system study tools (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD, SKM, or PSLF)
