Job DescriptionWe are looking for a licensed Mechanical Engineer to join our Architecture/Engineering Process Practice. In this role you will support capital projects, design mechanical systems for various industrial facilities, and work closely with architects and other engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions.
Responsibilities- Design facility mechanical systems, including water, chilled water, HVAC, wastewater, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam or hot water systems, compressed air, and other plumbing systems for custom, industrial applications.
- Perform mechanical system analysis, sizing, and design, and prepare detailed engineering calculations and reports.
- Use AutoCADMEP, Revit, Trane Trace, and Carrier HAP for design and analysis.
- Collaborate with licensed engineers and experienced designers to ensure design quality and compliance.
- Interface with vendors for equipment sizing, hydronic piping design, and mechanical equipment selection.
- Develop performance specifications for sprinkler systems and other mechanical components.
- Inspect installations to verify compliance with design documents.
- Provide technical support during project installation, start‑up activities, and client meetings.
- Minimum of 6 years of mechanical facilities design engineering experience.
- Demonstrated ability to complete mechanical system analysis, sizing, design, and report writing.
- Experience in life sciences and facility/building mechanical systems, including HVAC (air handling units, chemical and laminar fume hoods, unit heaters/coolers), water, chilled water/glycol, wastewater, cold/warm rooms, clean rooms, cooling towers/condensers, boiler/steam/condensate systems, hot water and hydronic systems, compressed gases, and waste/drain plumbing systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong proficiency in design and engineering software such as Revit, AutoCADMEP, Trane Trace, and Carrier HAP.
- PE license required to seal engineering documents.
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
Prefer candidates who are local to the area. Relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants outside the local area. Willingness to travel for project requirements, client meetings, installations, and professional development events is required.
CompensationApproximate pay range: $110,000 - $150,000. Final compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
