Substation Design Engineer Intern

• Assist in developing physical or protection and control (P&C) substation design drawings and engineering calculations for electric utility clients
• Perform careful self-checking to ensure work quality before presentation to senior design reviewers
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with the senior engineer and/or project manager
• Use client and/or company information systems to track and update design activities
• Assist senior engineers during job site meetings to gather scope of work
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in electrical engineering (ABET-approved)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Micro Station
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• 1–3 years of related academic or project experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with substation design and construction standards preferred
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification preferred but not required
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Micro Station preferred
• Local candidates only
• After accepting an offer, may be required to undergo background checks, drug testing, and/or fit-for-duty physical examination

Proficient in AutoCAD and Micro Station for substation design, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Capable of effectively communicating and coordinating project activities while ensuring high-quality work through attention to detail.
