Job Summary: The Payments Analyst is responsible for providing advanced analytical and strategic support for all payment processor and alternate payment method operations. This role involves generating detailed reports on key metrics and trends and proactively conducting deep-dives to identify issues and opportunities, and to lead implementation efforts to optimize payment processing. The role also supports the Payments team with the execution of new payment method and payment processor implementations.
Responsibilities- Lead the strategic analysis and deep-dive of transaction data to identify, recommend, and drive initiatives to continuously improve payment acceptance, authorization rates, and customer experience
- Conduct market research and trend analyses on global payments data to develop data-driven strategies and recommendations for optimal payment methods and processes that align with iHerb’s global footprint
- Prepare and maintain executive-level payments reports and dashboards for senior management, translating payment performance data into clear, high-impact strategic insights
- Lead the resolution of complex payment discrepancies and issues, acting as the first point of escalation and collaborating with internal teams and external payment partners to implement permanent systematic fixes
- Proactively identify, manage, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize the performance of existing payment methods, ensuring efficient routing, high acceptance rate, and cost-effectiveness
- Lead the analysis and execution phases of new payment method implementations and guide junior analysts and cross-functional stakeholders through these processes
Skills and Abilities
Required:
- Foundational understanding of end-to-end payments processing
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and effectively meet deadlines in fast paced environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills
- Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus
Requires a minimum of 5 (five) to 7 (seven) years of experience in payment operations, treasury, or financial analysis, demonstrating advanced subject-matter expertise
Education RequirementsBachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
