We are assisting our client, a large, publicly-traded company, in hiring an SEC Reporting Manager.
This role is responsible for leading the preparation and filing of external financial reports in compliance with SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP, supporting technical accounting initiatives, and partnering cross-functionally across Finance, Legal, Investor Relations, Internal Audit, and external auditors.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional project management skills, and experience operating in a fast-paced, highly regulated public company environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, earnings releases, and other public disclosures.
- Ensure all external reporting is timely, accurate, and compliant with SEC regulations, U.S. GAAP, and company policies.
- Coordinate the quarterly and annual financial reporting process across multiple business units and functional teams.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and supporting disclosure schedules.
- Research and interpret new accounting standards and SEC guidance; assess impacts to the company and assist with implementation efforts.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX), including coordination with Internal Audit and external auditors.
- Manage relationships with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Assist with earnings call materials, investor presentations, and ad hoc requests from executive leadership and Investor Relations.
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting efficiencies within the financial reporting function.
- Mentor and develop staff and senior accountants within the reporting organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Active CPA license preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including experience at a Big Four public accounting firm and/or large public company.
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements, U.S. GAAP, and SOX compliance.
- Experience with complex consolidations, multi-entity organizations, and large-scale ERP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools (e.g., Workiva/Wdesk, Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, One Stream).
