Field Exam Analyst - Business Credit

Position Overview

As a Field Exam Analyst within PNC’s Business Credit organization, you will evaluate borrowers’ financial records, collateral, and operational processes to assess risk and support sound credit decisions. The role requires regular field visits, onsite client examinations, and recurring overnight travel to the locations listed above.

• Lead less complex Field Examinations on existing and prospective borrowers and assist on larger examinations led by other examiners.
• Perform independent analysis of borrowers’ collateral records and financial reports to determine collateral values, identify weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate accounting system controls, data integrity, managerial oversight, and borrower accounting personnel.
• Prepare Field Examination reports and supporting work papers highlighting findings, material variances, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Communicate and escalates significant exam findings or concerns to lending and credit personnel.
• Make recommendations related to collateral support and issues identified during the due‑diligence process.
• Participate in meetings with Relationship Managers and borrowers’ representatives (e.g., CFO, CEO, Controller) to discuss collateral issues.
• Confirm proper reporting of collateral on Borrowing Base Certificates and ensure compliance with loan approval terms.
• When leading an examination, manage due‑diligence and direct field work performed by other examiners to complete assignments accurately and on time.

• Minimum of 1+ year(s) of Asset Based Lending (ABL) Field Exam experience.
• Familiarity with corporate accounting practices through coursework or work experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of GAAP, financial statement analysis, and collateral management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, problem‑solve, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
• University degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience; military service may be considered.

Base salary range: $45,000 – $105,000, depending on location, market data, individual skills, experience, and education. The role is incentive eligible based on company and individual performance.
