When you join Rad Net as a Technologist Assistant
, you will be joining a dedicated team of professionals who deliver quality, value, and access in the 21st century and align all stakeholders—patients, providers, payors, and regulators—to achieve the best clinical outcomes.
- Assist the modality technologist with different procedures within the scope of their job skills and licensure.
- Print technologists’ daily schedule.
- Ensure that equipment and tools are sterilized in each department before every patient exam.
- Confirm patient appointments.
- Schedule callbacks with patients when necessary.
- Assist patients with their paperwork when necessary.
- Verify patient identity correctly by adhering to appropriate company policies.
- Explain exam/procedure to patients or coordinate with someone if language or other issues interfere with the patients’ accurate understanding of their procedures.
- Answer any questions the patient might have regarding their exam/procedure.
- Give patients oral contrast as indicated by exam.
- Verify patients’ insurance.
- Takes patients’ blood pressure for nuclear medicine exams.
- Ensure that supplies needed for the technologists are appropriately maintained and order supplies when necessary.
- Upload previous exams and request addendums.
- Call doctors’ office for labs on patients, as needed.
- Complete film or CD requests for patients and/or outside facilities.
- Request prior authorizations from outside facilities.
- Consult with radiologist, as needed.
- Assist front office, as needed.
- Assist the insurance verification department and retrieve authorizations, as needed.
- Promote public relations through excellent service to patients, referring physicians, vendors and other clients on the phone and in person.
- Passionate about patient care and exercise sound judgement and an ability to remain professional in all situations.
- Demonstrate effective and professional communication, interpersonal skills and respect with patients, guests & colleagues.
- Have a structured work‑approach, understand complex problems and can prioritize work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Have one of the following: a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess and utilize excellent customer service skills, strong public relations skills, and good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be detail‑oriented and organized, possess clerical skills, and have the ability to interact effectively with doctors, referring doctors, staff, patients, vendors, peers, and management.
