LHH is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee our client's full‑cycle payroll operations for a growing organization in Pasadena. This role requires strong technical skills, deep payroll knowledge, and the ability to manage high‑volume, multi‑state payroll in a fast‑paced environment. Ideal candidates will have extensive hands‑on experience with ADP, exceptional accuracy, and a strong understanding of compliance and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Manage full‑cycle payroll processing for weekly, biweekly, and semimonthly payrolls
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll submission across multiple states
  • Maintain payroll records, audit employee data, and manage updates to compensation, deductions, and tax withholding
  • Oversee off‑cycle payroll runs, adjustments, and corrections
  • Generate payroll reports for accounting, HR, and leadership teams
  • Collaborate with HR on onboarding, terminations, and employee file updates
  • Respond to payroll inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and support employees with payroll‑related issues
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure adherence to wage and hour laws
  • Partner with Finance on reconciliations, year‑end reporting, and audits
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of payroll experience, including multi‑state payroll
  • Strong proficiency in ADP (Workforce Now or other ADP modules required)
  • Advanced understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance
  • Experience collaborating closely with HR and Finance teams
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage sensitive information
  • Ability to work onsite in Pasadena
