Human Resource Business Partner (JN - Pasadena, California
Salary: USD
25 - USD
32 per hour
Established organization is hiring for an HRBP in the greater Pasadena, CA area on a temp-to-hire basis. Pay ranges from $25-32/hr. on the temporary side and upwards to $90k upon conversion.
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) partners with leadership to develop and implement people strategies that support organizational goals and mission-driven outcomes. This role provides expertise in employee relations, labor relations, talent management, organizational development, compliance, and workforce planning, with a strong focus on unionized and nonprofit environments.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a strategic advisor to leaders on workforce planning, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Manage employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance issues, and conflict resolution.
- Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and support grievance management and labor relations initiatives.
- Partner with union representatives and assist with collective bargaining processes.
- Support recruitment, talent development, succession planning, and retention strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies.
- Analyze workforce trends and recommend solutions to improve employee performance and engagement.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and mission-focused workplace culture.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Business Partner or Senior HR Generalist responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting unionized work forces and administering collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, education, social services, or other mission-driven organizations.
- Strong knowledge of labor relations, employee relations, employment law, and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, coaching, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
