About the JobBBOI is seeking an agile and tech-savvy Digital Platform & Web Specialist to manage and grow our digital footprint. This role is perfect for a developer who understands that a website isn't just a collection of code, but a vital tool for storytelling and community building.
You will be responsible for the design and maintenance of BBOI's internal properties and those of our high-impact clients. Beyond standard web maintenance, you will help us explore and implement social community platforms to deepen engagement within the movements we support.
- Web Design & Maintenance:
Oversee the visual and functional health of BBOI properties and client websites. - Email Marketing:
Manage Mail Chimp templates, lists, and campaign deployments. - Community Platform Development:
Work with the team to research, build, and maintain social community platforms (e.g., Buddy Press, Mighty Networks). - Cross-Team
Collaboration:
Interface with the BBOI social media team to ensure digital content is integrated and optimized across all platforms.
- Web Expert:
Proven experience in website design and backend maintenance across diverse platforms. Proficient in Word Press (including theme customization and plugin management) and Wix, with the ability to quickly adapt to other site builders as client needs evolve. - Community Builder:
Familiarity with or a strong interest in social networking plugins and platforms like Buddy Press or Mighty Networks. - Marketing Integration:
Proficiency in Mail Chimp and integrating email capture into web design. - Mission-Driven:
An interest in social justice, arts, and movement building.
- Status:
Contract / On-Call - Hours:
Averages 8 hours per week (please note: work is "on-call" based on project needs). - Rate: $35 – $50 / hour
