Our client, a boutique firm based in Southern California, is hiring a (1) Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney and (2) Patent Agent with 0-3 years of experience in their Pasadena office
. In this role, you will work on cutting-edge patent work involving therapeutics, diagnostics, and biotechnology platforms.
You will work closely with experienced patent attorneys to prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications, utilizing your technical expertise to translate complex scientific concepts and experimental data into clear, strategic patent filings.
This firm offers- Base Salary Range: $115K-$145K+ (DOE)

- Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in biotechnology and life sciences
- Analyze invention disclosures, experimental results, and scientific data
- Assist with responding to USPTO communications and conducting interviews with USPTO examiners
- Conduct prior art searches and patentability analyses
- Prepare patent claim charts and support due diligence and freedom-to-operate projects
- Collaborate directly with inventors and scientific teams
- 0-3 years of experience in patent prosecution
- USPTO Registration (plus J.D. from an accredited law school for Associate candidates)
- Ph.D. in life sciences or related field such as biology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, or other related life sciences field
