The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) in Pasadena, CA, seeks a Buyer with experience in fast‑paced research and development procurement to support AWS’s cloud quantum computing services. The role involves working with finance, import/export, legal, and engineering teams.

• Develop and manage RFPs/RFIs and contract opportunities.
• Negotiate agreements, create purchase orders, manage BPO and related expenses.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to determine requirements for heavy machinery, lab supplies, testing equipment, chemicals, scientific equipment, and vacuum systems.
• Coordinate with import/export teams and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Lead cross‑functional projects, communicate findings to senior executives, and provide written and oral updates.

• Experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations.
• Experience with procurement systems and financial applications.
• Experience with metrics creation and data presentation.
• Experience of improving processes and improving scalability.
• Hands‑on experience running process, technology or operations improvement projects or initiatives.

• Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, alongside willingness to learn proprietary systems.

The base salary range for this position is 70,400.00 – 94,000.00 USD annually.
