Job SummarySupervise the daily operations of Cash Management and General Ledger functions. Oversee the preparation and review of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards. Ensure the integrity of income reconciliations, financial analysis, regulatory reporting, tax compliance, fixed assets accounting and OFAC processes.
Essential Job Functions- Supervise the daily operations of Cash Management and General Ledger teams, ensuring accurate completion of responsibilities, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), company policies, and established internal controls.
- Oversee preparation and review of journal entries and bank reconciliations to ensure accurate general ledger reporting.
- Oversee the timely preparation of financial statements, including reviewing account reconciliations and subledgers, analyzing balances, resolving discrepancies, and managing month-end closing process.
- Oversee income reconciliations between the claims systems and the accounting system, ensuring discrepancies are researched and resolved, and accrual entries are properly reviewed.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial analysis and management reporting.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, inventory tracking and asset disposals.
- Manage OFAC compliance processes, including review of daily match reports and coordination of issue resolution with appropriate departments.
- Oversee regulatory reporting and tax compliance, including unclaimed property filings, business property statements, and foreign bank account reporting.
- Support internal and external audits by reviewing schedules, reconciliations, and responses to audit inquiries.
- Lead business plan preparation and special projects as assigned.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Manage personnel matters, including staff supervision, training and development, and performance evaluations.
- Document, maintain, and update accounting procedures and operational manuals.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity.
- Maintain internal privacy, confidentiality, and information security standards.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 to 7 years of general accounting, office administration, and supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and general accounting principles
- Experience in utilizing Sage Intacct accounting system preferred
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty
- Ability to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his/her work product
- Strong leadership and critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook and Teams
