We are committed to ending the cycle of homelessness and abuse through comprehensive case management, counseling, educational classes, pre- and post-natal care, and resources throughout pregnancy and beyond.

Job Description Summary

Elizabeth House seeks a mission-driven Director of Finance & Administration to provide operational, financial, and administrative leadership during a significant period of organizational transition and growth. This two-year position will help strengthen systems, build organizational infrastructure, improve operational effectiveness, and support the long-term sustainability of the ministry.

Key Responsibilities include:

Financial Operations

  • Partner with the Executive Director and Board of Directors on long-range financial planning and organizational sustainability.
  • Develop financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and scenario analyses to support organizational decision-making.
  • Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, purchasing, expense management, internal controls, and stewardship of organizational resources.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and recommendations to the Executive Director, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, reporting, processes, and organizational efficiency.

Administration

  • Lead organizational administrative functions
  • Develop systems, processes, and workflows that improve efficiency and accountability
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service providers
  • Manage organizational insurance policies, risk management initiatives, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage facility maintenance projects and capital improvement initiatives

Human Resources

  • Serve as the primary internal resource for personnel policies, employee relations, and organizational culture initiatives.
  • Support performance management processes and staff development initiatives
  • Assist leadership with organizational planning and staffing strategies

Program Operations

  • Provide operational leadership for Elizabeth House's Residential Program, ensuring safe, effective, and mission-aligned service delivery.
  • Supervise residential staff, including scheduling, performance management, coaching, and professional development
  • Partner with the Executive Director, Spiritual Director, and Care Manager to ensure alignment between residential operations and organizational goals
  • Develop standard operating procedures that support program quality, resident safety, and staff effectiveness
  • Foster a healthy, supportive, and mission-driven residential culture for residents and staff

Strategic Projects

  • Lead and manage special projects identified by the Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Support implementation of organizational strategic priorities
  • Manage organizational change management and process improvement efforts
  • Develop documentation, policies, and systems that strengthen long-term sustainability

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a management, administration, macro social work, or related discipline.
  • Three or more years of experience in a director-level leadership role in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational operations, including responsibility for budgeting, personnel management, compliance, systems development, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational initiatives that require building new systems, developing processes, coordinating stakeholders, and driving implementation from concept to completion.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and evaluating staff, including responsibility for performance management, professional development, and accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, donors, vendors, and board members.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance strategic planning and day-to-day operational execution.
