Ameri Corps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.

What will you do?

The community outreach coordinator plays a critical role in strengthening relationships through planning, coordination and implementation of projects in partnership with the community. These relationships with community residents, local organizations, elected officials and stakeholders help identify areas where Habitat for Humanity's housing and community development solutions can intersect with identified needs and aspirations.

• Build relationships and partnerships with community residents, local organizations, elected officials and community stakeholders.
• Identify community improvement projects and implement them from planning through completion.
• Engage volunteers from the community to support local improvement projects.
• Coordinate and document the implementation of Habitat's housing and community development solution in partnership with the community.

This position will focus on community outreach aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

• Activities and attractions:
  The city of Pasadena is located close to our office with iconic spots such as the Rose Bowl, the Huntington, and a downtown area with great shops and food. Our office is located in Monrovia, which is about a half hour (depending on traffic) from downtown Los Angeles and its concert venues and museums. 30-40 minutes west of our office is Universal Studios Hollywood, as well as Warner Brothers studio tours.
• Unique projects:
  Outreach to communities in the greater Altadena area and connect homeowners hoping to rebuild with our programs team. Work with colleges and high schools in our service area to connect students with service opportunities around rebuilding and disaster relief, including rebuilds in Altadena and our ReStore's fire survivor distribution events.

When will you serve?

Start dates are flexible and based on this location's availability. Talk to the hiring manager for this position about start dates during your interview process. The start date will be 4-6 weeks from receiving an offer and no earlier than September 2026.

Minimum Requirements Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
