Position SummaryAs the Mobile Unit Nurse (LVN/LPT), you will provide basic medical services to patients in an outpatient addiction recovery environment; maintain professional nursing standards; deliver medication safely in accordance with facility policy; and maintain thorough documentation of patient records and medical files per state and federal regulations.

- Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse licensed in accordance with the laws in the state of employment
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Knowledge and experience with regulations and standards including infection control, quality assurance, and patient‑care compliance for state licensure
- CPR and BLS certification
- Experience with triage in emergency situations and assisting with medical emergencies
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to travel up to 100% to provide coverage in assigned areas
- Two (2) years’ experience with chemical addiction and/or mental disorders, including psychopharmacotherapy
- Educate patients regarding medications used in the treatment setting and their side effects
- Administer/dispense medications (e.g., Methadone, Suboxone) in accordance with state, federal regulations, and DEA guidelines
- Conduct urine drug screens as needed
- Conduct assessments for new intakes, quarterly, annual, AWOL, and possible impairment
- Ensure adequate recording of medication administration/dispensing transactions
- Follow treatment plans of the physician and/or medical director
- Place, interpret, and document Mantoux tests for patients and teammates
- Assess patient response to treatment and medication dosages, adjust as appropriate
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide care per license requirements
- Counsel patients on personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and other medical matters
- Document nursing progress notes on all patients and maintain comprehensive medical records
- Participate in case conferences and offer professional observations
- Order medical supplies and maintain accurate inventory records
- Schedule appointments for patients to see physicians, obtain lab workups, and send reminders to ensure appointments are kept
- Conduct medication call backs for patients receiving take‑home medication
- Collaborate with physicians and team on important changes or patterns of behavior affecting treatment
- Provide referrals for specialized care at local health centers (e.g., Planned Parenthood, prenatal clinic, HIV/AIDS testing sites) and follow up on clients’ attendance and treatment
- Assist in organizing transfers of patients to and from the program and verify medication verbally with nurses in other programs
- Recognize and manage opioid overdoses
- Understand benefits and limitations of urine screens, toxicology, and other testing procedures
- Attend team meetings and complete all required training courses in a timely manner
- Travel to assigned regional sites as needed and/or scheduled
