- Certified by the State of California as a Certified Nursing Assistant and maintains current certification while employed as a C.N.A. at the facility.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow oral and written instructions and to write information in English.
- Must be able to perform any physical requirement of the position, including lifting dead or unassisted weight of 40 pounds.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Has the desire to care for people, especially the elderly and/or chronically ill.
To provide care for residents according to Nursing Standards of Care as taught in an educational program for C.N.A. and according to facility procedures and task lists. Provides care utilizing safe techniques and specialized equipment to protect the residents and staff. Provides care and services according to Resident Rights and Title 22 and OBRA regulations.
ReportingThe Certified Nursing Assistant reports to the Charge Nurse on duty and the Director of Staff Development.
Job Duties- Reporting to the assigned station and charge nurse daily
- Performing tasks within C.N.A. scope
- Providing resident care efficiently and safely
- Following facility rules and regulations
- Communicating changes in resident condition promptly
- Collaborating with team members
- Maintaining positive interactions with residents and staff
- Continuing education for C.N.A. certification
- Reporting to work as scheduled and giving proper notice for absences
- Maintaining resident rooms at the end of the shift
- Following dress code and attending meetings
- Keeping CPR certification current
- Following instructions for the walk-to-dine program
- Introducing self to residents and explaining procedures
- Monitoring vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, charting, and assisting with meals
- Following resident-specific care plans
- Completing any other assigned duties from supervisors.
