Description

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.

Description:

According to the most recent California Climate Change Assessment, "California is already experiencing the impacts of climate change. In the last decade, Californians have endured severe droughts, floods, historic wildfires, rising seas, and record temperatures all driven by climate change. Building resilience to these impacts requires sustained investment in climate change research and science." This postdoc opportunity will involve conducting research related to understanding the impacts of climate crises across California's landscape and coastal environments, as well as translating insights into actionable information for management and decision purposes.

  • being committed to societal impact and tangible benefits of science and research
  • experience / interest in how science can be used to inform decision-making in natural resources management
