Description

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities for scientists to engage in NASA research projects. This fellowship supports 1–3 year research on lunar petrology at a NASA Center.

Candidate is expected to pursue an independent research program on lunar petrology, combining petrological and remote sensing data with geodynamical modelling to explain the lunar crustal dichotomy. The work will incorporate observations of crustal thickness, chemical differences, and volcanic outputs, and may involve creating programs for petrological data and modeling techniques.

  • Degree:
    Doctoral Degree (PhD in lunar petrology or related field)
Qualifications

The ideal applicant will have a PhD (or pending) in lunar petrology, be well versed in thermodynamic phase equilibrium models, demonstrate proficiency with coding, exhibit excellent writing and speaking skills, and be capable of independent work.
