The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly talented scientists. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors has identified pollution from the Tijuana River Valley as a public health crisis. This project will explore ways in which remote sensing can be used to improve understanding of Tijuana River plumes and support decision-making processes to protect public health and reduce beach closures.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will conduct remote sensing studies of Tijuana River plumes, analyze data to improve understanding of pollutant distribution, and collaborate with county officials to enhance beach closure decision processes.

Degree:
Doctoral Degree.

• U.S. Citizens;
• U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR);
• Foreign Nationals eligible for an Exchange Visitor J-1 visa status;
