Responsibilities
  • Meet the sales and income budget expectations while managing expense controls to maximize profitability for the assigned location.
  • Plan and direct day‑to‑day operations of the assigned store location, including opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management and rotation, ARC merchandising standards and donations.
  • Hire, train and direct the store team to ensure proficiency of processes, develop performance coaching and conduct employee evaluations and corrective actions in coordination with HR and District Sales Manager.
  • Schedule employees, coordinate daily morning and shift change team meetings, and maintain accurate employee payroll records including time and attendance edits.
  • Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction through excellent service, and develop strategies to improve the customer experience.
  • Oversee Back Room Processing to ensure processors and warehouse associates meet daily processing goals.
  • Ensure that all store deliveries and inventory are on the sales floor in a timely manner.
  • Supervise, support, and conduct reporting of program beneficiaries when work therapy assignments are in place.
  • Protect and secure store currency, inventory, and property, including safe funds and bank deposits.
  • Secure the building during non‑operating hours with alarm system arming and alert protocol.
  • Establish and maintain safety measures consistent with ARC policy and governmental regulations, report safety issues and incidents, conduct and record mandatory weekly store meetings, and attend ARC monthly safety meetings.
  • May be transferred or relocated to other stores based on business needs.
  • Complete all tasks assigned by District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors, and Command Administration.
  • Qualifications
    • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of supervisor or management experience in a retail environment (thrift experience preferred).
    • Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Valid driver’s license, successfully pass a motor vehicle records check.
    • Must pass background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors.
    • 2+ years experience operating POS/cash register, employee scheduling, and supervision.
    • 2+ years experience in retail/sales.
    Physical Demands
    • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist continuously or intermittently.
    • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, cartridge carts, merchandise carts, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
    • Ability to move product up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks.
    Schedule

    Stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management; employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full‑time associates may be scheduled for any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
