Beauty Advisor

The Beauty Advisor (BA) is responsible for delivering an exceptional experience to all Ulta Beauty guests. Duties include engaging each guest to assess their individual needs, performing cashier tasks, stocking merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting leadership with performance, guest service, and operational standards. The role requires a passion for the beauty industry, excellent guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni‑channel sales, and shrink.
• Provide exceptional service: greet and engage guests, personalize service, answer product questions, inform about promotions, and recommend complementary products or services.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and online order assistance courteously.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demos to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Book and support appointments and in‑store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services, including ingredients and benefits, to better serve guests.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.

• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
• Share guest loyalty program benefits, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to enable professional development and drive sales performance.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to the dress code.
• Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed, and faced, and ensuring testers are available.
• Maintain outstanding store standards and overall cleanliness (sales floor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, break area).
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory, and processing/unloading shipments.
• Follow loss prevention practices and provide exceptional guest service.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• High school diploma preferred.

• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.

• Passion for guest service and competency for selling.
• Proficiency with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system and Apple devices).
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift.
• Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
• Continuous or frequent lifting, carrying, or moving up to 25 lbs.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.

The pay range for this position is $18.04 - $24.50 per hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law. Full‑time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
