Public Safety Lead Officer

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital seeks a Public Safety Lead Officer to oversee daily security operations and ensure a safe, healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff. In this on-site leadership role, you will supervise safety officers, coordinate incident response, manage access control, and partner with clinical teams to support emergency preparedness and de-escalation. You will champion a compassionate, community-centered approach to public safety that reflects MLKCH's mission of health equity and culturally responsive care in South Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily public safety operations across hospital facilities to ensure a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff
• Supervise, train, and mentor safety officers, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Coordinate incident response, conduct security patrols, and manage access control systems and visitor management
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support emergency preparedness, de-escalation, and crisis response
• Document and report safety incidents, support investigations, and recommend improvements to security protocols
• Support a culturally responsive, patient-centered approach to safety in alignment with the hospital's mission and values
