Job Summary
Sr. (Field) Service Technician responsible for installing, configuring, calibrating, and repairing technical products and systems at customer field locations. Performs maintenance and technical support tasks involving hydraulic, mechanical, vibration, and system problems. Pump field expert with knowledge of pumps, prime movers, and auxiliary systems to improve customer MT , reduce costs, and assist with RCFA.
Key Responsibilities- Visit customer sites, consult, investigate all aspects of technical design including troubleshooting, problem solving, and customer system analysis; provide recommendations.
- Perform site performance testing of existing pump, compare OEM (Sulzer or non‑Sulzer) performance to current performance.
- Conduct site vibration testing and provide recommendations to solve identified problems.
- Execute RCFA analysis of any problems (pumps, seals, couplings, systems) to help customers.
- Write detailed and professional reports based on data obtained from site visits that allow customers and Sulzer Service Center to diagnose, fix, test, and solve difficult technical issues to satisfaction.
- Support AME SC’s with Field Engineering Assistance Requests (FEARs) for technical issues, ensuring current applicable disciplines (mechanical, hydraulic, metallurgy, instrumentation & control).
- Participate in company‑wide LEAN, EHS, and Quality Management efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ten years’ experience in pump, systems interface, and hydraulic applications (preferred).
- High vibration and pump expertise required.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Very organized with ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to travel to site at a moment’s notice.
