  - Friday - 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
• Swing Shift, Monday
  - Friday 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm (5% shift differential increase for Swing Shift)
• Weekend, Tuesday
  - Saturday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (1% shift differential increase for Weekend Shift)

Preferences will be observed but offered shift will be based on business needs

Salary: $6,283.25 to $6,927.23 per month (+5% step increase after completing probationary period)

Paid Time Off: 12 Vacation days, 12 Sick Days, 20 Holidays (per fiscal year)

The Pasadena Area Community College District is seeking a Skilled Trades Worker II to perform advanced apprentice-level work in construction, renovation, remodeling, maintenance, and repair. • Performs routine maintenance and advanced apprentice-level work in electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and other skilled trades. May perform limited journey-level work under direction of a journey-level worker.
• Works collaboratively with other skilled trades and journey-level workers to complete construction tasks including demolition and excavation; cutting, threading, and installing pipe, gas, and other lines; building forms; pouring and finishing concrete; and related construction activities.
• Operates heavy equipment such as excavators, Bobcats, and attachments including backhoes, sweepers, trenchers, augers, and buckets. Operates forklifts and a variety of power and hand tools.
• Performs advanced, non-journey-level maintenance, fabrication, and repair of tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Remodels and renovates structures such as offices, locker rooms, and other facilities.
• Under direction from a supervisor or journey-level worker, estimates materials and determines required tools, equipment, and labor for assigned projects. Coordinates with contractors and vendors as approved by supervisor.
• Leads, trains, and oversees classified and hourly employees assisting with maintenance, repair tasks, and construction work; ensure adherence to safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Four (4) years of experience performing semi-skilled trades work and/or serving as a helper in one or more building and construction trades under general direction from journey-level workers.
• Valid California Driver License and evidence of a satisfactory driving record

• Valid/current Forklift Operator's Certification is preferred. Ability to become certified during probationary period required.

• Competency in multiple construction and maintenance trades (e.g., carpentry, painting, drywall, framing, concrete, tile, and minor electrical or plumbing work).
• Proficiency in operating hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as jackhammers, saws, drills, forklifts, and small loaders.
• Knowledge of jobsite safety practices, proper PPE usage, and hazard awareness in construction and maintenance environments.
• Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to work under general supervision and, as assigned, provide guidance or direction to lower-level workers.
