Position: Physical Security Program Manager, AWS Center for Quantum Computing at Amazon Pasadena, CA

Physical Security Program Manager – AWS Center for Quantum Computing – Pasadena, CA

The Amazon Web Services Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Physical Security Program Manager to join its Quantum Infrastructure and Production team. This team member will lead design and innovation efforts to develop optimal security solutions for CQC. As the Physical Security subject matter expert, this individual will manage multiple projects, maintaining regular communication with project sponsors on status, risks and change control.

Cross-team coordination, project management, and executive presentation skills are essential. The Physical Security PM will be a key member of the quantum security operation, working with the QIP team as well as cross-functional leadership teams throughout the organization.

A successful Physical Security PM will have the ability to manage multiple projects at once, be a self-starter, possess strong analytical instincts, and can take calculated risks that may challenge current practices to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Ensure the project is completed within the estimated budget and course correct when needed without jeopardizing the outcome or timeline.
  • Deliver physical security installations while ensuring hardware/equipment standards are met and maintained.
  • Act as an escalation point for the project teams and stakeholders to manage risks, develop mitigation plans, and create a path to green throughout the project.
  • Enhance, track, and report on metrics that are key performance indicators, allowing performance improvements so that the desired outcomes are achieved on plan and in a timely manner.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methods to drive process improvements and increase efficiency.
A Day in the Life

In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to develop security solutions to manage and mitigate risks. You will work hand in hand with the facilities, safety, and IT teams to ensure that security programs are executed smoothly and efficiently. You will monitor facilities and security metrics and work to find a root cause and solution to any anomalies that pop up.

Basic

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience.
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics.
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup) at an advanced level and SQL.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership.
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization.
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.

Compensation

The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
