School Van Driver

Full‑time position based in South Pasadena. Drive students, pick up clients, and occasionally parents. The role supports students with disabilities in a supportive, mission‑driven organization.

Responsibilities
  • Drive and pick up students, clients, and occasionally parents.
  • Maintain and update route sheets, including left and right turn directions.
  • Monitor and maintain order among students on the school van following school policies.
  • Complete daily van safety checks.
  • Check and add fuel, oil, and water as needed.
  • Ensure the van is maintained in a safe operating condition.
  • Submit reports on mechanical defects and other reports as assigned.
  • Attend driver safety meetings.
  • Use good judgment regarding laws, policies, and rules while operating the assigned vehicle.
  • Actively maintain safe driving practices and emergency van evacuation procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Access to a mobile phone and basic internet.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license with experience.
  • DL 51 medical card required.
  • Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR training (sponsored).
  • Two points or less on a Department of Motor Vehicles H6 printout.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Clear background check through the FBI and DOJ.
  • Recent TB test (within last 2 months).
Physical & Environment Requirements
  • Varied work environments: classrooms, clinics, homes.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels; physical demands may vary.
  • Work with individuals exhibiting diverse behaviors and needs.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $19.00 – $21.34 per hour. Salary range contingent upon experience, credentialing, education, and second‑language usage (50% of the time).
