Position Summary
Clerk:
Individualized Educational Plan (IEP)
Provides clerical assistance to the administrative and teaching staff on matters related to special education. Work includes maintaining files, taking prior written notice, mailing documents, tracking timelines, and using office machines including a computer. Serves as the collection and organization point, and disseminator of all paperwork related to the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) process.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities- Assists special education staff with IEP process documentation including parent notification and follow-up to meetings.
- Tracks timeline for referrals, evaluations, and annual reviews.
- Completes Medicaid billing forms and SSIS forms.
- Utilizes the special education software to prepare related documentation.
- Makes copies of IEPs for review and use by special education, regular education teachers and parents.
- Maintains special education files and materials of instruction in an orderly manner.
- Maintains and organizes student progress reports, data sheets and other appropriate documentation of achievement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Education- High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
- One year recent office, clerical, and/or administrative experience preferred.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to exercise initiative and good judgement in the timely execution of delegated administrative responsibilities.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and follow written instructions and specifications, communicate and work effectively and harmoniously with supervisors, administrators, and other employees.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g., Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
- Standing: under 1/3 percent of the time
- Walking: under 1/3 percent of the time
- Sitting: over 2/3 percent of the time
- Keyboarding: between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the time
- Talking: between 1/3 and 2/3 percent of the time
