Job Description

Title Code: CLERK: INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATIONAL PLAN (IEP)

Job Summary: Provides clerical assistance to the administrative and teaching staff on matters related to special education. The role includes maintaining files, taking prior written notice, mailing documents, tracking timelines, and using office machines including a computer. The position serves as the collection and organization point, and disseminator of all paperwork related to the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) process.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities
  • Assist special education staff with IEP process documentation including parent notification and follow-up to meetings.
  • Track timeline for referrals, evaluations, and annual reviews.
  • Complete Medicaid billing forms and SSIS forms.
  • Utilize the special education software to prepare related documentation.
  • Make copies of IEPs for review and use by special education, regular education teachers, and parents.
  • Maintain special education files and materials of instruction in an orderly manner.
  • Organize student progress reports, data sheets, and other appropriate documentation of achievement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
Minimum Qualifications Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
Experience
  • One (1) year recent office, clerical, and/or administrative experience preferred.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
