Meador an Openwork Company is currently searching for a DIRECT-HIRE Accountant in the Pasadena area (77507) that is eager to work. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong accounting experience that has previously worked in the manufacturing industry and is looking for their next step with the opportunity of growth. Open due to upcoming retirement and will be mentored and will work hand in hand with the Controller to learn and apply all accounting practices to the role.

Responsibilities- Assist Controller to manage full-cycle accounting including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable in compliance with GAAP.
- Assist Controller to perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Maintain vendor master data, process invoices and payments, and ensure proper coding, approvals, and documentation.
- Assist Controller with oversee cash activity, including bank reconciliations, deposits, and cash book management across multiple accounts.
- Assist Controller to support budgeting and forecasting processes, including plant-level cost accounting, depreciation planning, and long-range financial planning.
- Assist Controller to prepare and analyze financial and operational reports, including variable cost reports and other management reporting.
- Calculate, accrue, and file sales and use tax in accordance with State of Texas requirements.
- Work with managers to track and report on capital projects, fixed assets, and support audits, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives including risk and loss control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, chemical, or related industries.
- Cost accounting experience required.
