Plant Accountant

A stable and well-established chemical manufacturing company in the Pasadena/Bayport area is seeking a Plant Accountant to join its lean accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with manufacturing and cost accounting experience who enjoys owning the accounting process in a collaborative, hands-on environment.

Reporting directly to the Controller, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations while supporting the financial health of a large-scale manufacturing facility.

• Manage month-end close activities, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the accuracy of financial records
• Support accounts payable, limited accounts receivable, and customer billing
• Maintain fixed asset records and account for capital projects
• Prepare cost accounting analyses and variable cost reports
• Calculate and file Texas sales and use tax
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
• Support internal, financial, tax, and risk management audits
• Process employee expense reports and maintain vendor records
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased accounting efficiency
• Provide backup support to the Controller and assist with special projects as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Manufacturing and cost accounting experience required
• Experience with:
• Month-end close
• Fixed assets
• Capital projects
• Bank reconciliations
• Accounts payable and billing
• CPA or CMA is a plus
