Job Title
Baity & Associates Tax and Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a professional to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing business and individual income tax returns, financial statements, and payroll reports.
EssentialJob Duties
• Prepare federal business income tax returns, including Forms 1120-S, 1120, and 1065.
• Prepare Texas Franchise Tax Reports.
• Prepare federal individual income tax returns, including Form 1040 and common supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review financial statements for small- to medium-sized business clients.
• Perform accounting and bookkeeping services, including reviewing and reconciling financial records.
• Prepare quarterly and annual payroll reports, including Forms 941, 940, W-2, W-3, and applicable state reports.
• Prepare sales tax reports and assist clients with related filing requirements.
• Review bank statements, payroll records, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information and follow up with clients as needed.
• Explain the general tax advantages, disadvantages, and reporting requirements of different business entity structures.
• Assist with business and individual tax-planning strategies based on each client's circumstances.
• Review W-2s, Forms 1099, brokerage statements, retirement documents, Schedules K-1 and K-3, and other individual tax documents.
• Apply current federal and state tax laws when preparing returns, financial reports, and other filings.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding accounting questions, tax matters, missing documents, deadlines, and return status.
• Maintain organized work papers and properly document accounting entries and tax return positions.
• Use professional tax, accounting, payroll, and document-management software accurately and efficiently.
• Follow the firm's preparation, review, documentation, privacy, and confidentiality procedures.
• Manage multiple client assignments and meet tax, payroll, accounting, and reporting deadlines.
• Three or more years of experience preparing business income tax returns, including Forms 1120-S, 1120, or 1065.
• Three or more years of experience preparing Form 1040 individual income tax returns.
• Working knowledge of federal business and individual tax concepts.
• Experience preparing financial statements or performing accounting and bookkeeping services.
• Familiarity with payroll reporting and sales tax reporting requirements.
• Understanding of common business entity structures and their general tax implications.
• Ability to identify missing or inconsistent information and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow established accounting, tax preparation, and review procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain tax and accounting matters clearly and professionally to clients.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and meet recurring and tax-season deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential client and financial information professionally.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Quick Books, professional tax preparation software, and general computer applications.
• Customer service orientation.
• Pay: $65,000-$80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
