Overview
PRN Patient Services Coordinator – Revenue Cycle Department at Texas Oncology, 4000 Spencer Highway #200, Pasadena, Texas. Typical work week:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Greets patients and visitors, checks in patients, informs clinical staff of patient arrival.
- Provides and explains paperwork, collects, proofs for completeness, files forms, updates demographics and insurance information, collects co‑paids, provides receipt.
- Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes calls, takes thorough messages, pages clinic personnel, communicates messages accurately and timely.
- Checks patients out after examination, schedules returning appointments, provides appointment details.
- Records cancellations and missed appointments; reschedules; notifies staff and records in chart.
- Provides general administrative support by filing charts and forms, maintains lobby area and supplies.
- Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, HIPAA laws and guidelines regarding patient records.
- Other duties as requested or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Must successfully complete required e‑learning courses within 90 days of occupation.
- At least 18 months front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of practice personnel, daily routines, and scheduling a plus.
- At least 5 years front‑medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software.
The physical demands include regular sitting, use of hands, occasional standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 30 pounds. Requires normal vision and hearing corrected if needed.
