The Lead Sourcing Specialist – Tender and Project Sourcing is responsible for supporting profitable project execution by ensuring accurate sourcing strategies during the tender phase and managing supplier negotiations during project execution. This role collaborates closely with commodity managers, buyers, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive cost‑effective sourcing decisions, manage claims, and support overall project success. The position replaces an existing contingent worker.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and complete sourcing assumptions are incorporated during the tender phase to support profitable project bids.
- Coordinate sourcing activities during the execution phase, including negotiations with commodity managers and local buyers.
- Directly negotiate select commodities as required.
- Manage supplier claims and support resolution efforts.
- Advise functional managers on sourcing‑related projects, processes, and procedures.
- Handle communication with internal teams and business stakeholders regarding sourcing coordination and services provided.
- Contribute as a team member on larger initiatives or lead smaller sourcing projects independently.
- Work goals typically require 3–6 months to complete.
- Project outcomes and business impact generally realized within 2–12 months after execution.
- Minimum 7+ years of total sourcing experience
, including: - At least 4 years in sourcing
, and - A minimum of 3 years in Tender and Project Sourcing
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage internal customers and external suppliers effectively.
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems such as SAP and/or Oracle
. - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- (High School Diploma or GED with equivalent experience may be considered)
- Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project‑driven environment
- Experience supporting cross‑functional teams in a manufacturing or industrial setting
