Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our dynamic procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to support organizational goals. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, managing complex purchasing processes, and ensuring that the company obtains the best possible value for its investments.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead the procurement of goods and services across various categories, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize the supply chain and reduce overall procurement costs.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and assess the market for trends and new opportunities.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring high levels of performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize cost savings and operational efficiency.
Evaluate supplier performance regularly and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage and review contracts, including negotiating terms, pricing, and conditions to ensure alignment with company goals.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations, including ethical sourcing and sustainability standards.
Work closely with inventory and logistics teams to monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and ensure inventory is maintained at optimal levels.
Implement strategies for cost reduction and process improvement to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance, production) to understand requirements and provide procurement solutions that meet business needs.
Advise stakeholders on procurement best practices and guide them through the sourcing and purchasing process.
Prepare regular reports and analyses on procurement activities, expenditures, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Use data to inform decision‑making and provide insights for strategic purchasing decisions.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA or relevant certifications preferred).
Minimum of 5‑7 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in procurement software, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Work HoursHours are a typical office Monday‑Friday schedule with night or weekend hours required as necessary for business demands.
