POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeing an academic professional to join our faculty to teach foundational science chiropractic practice. The ideal candidate will provide instruction in Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Nutrition. Faculty members are expected to adhere to the TCC Faculty Handbook and institutional policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Curriculum Delivery - Develope and lead lectures on metabolicy pathways (Biochemistry), pathogenic mechanisms (Microbiology), and therapeutic supplementation (Nutrition).
* Student Assessment - Design examinations and assessments that prepare students for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) exams.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
* Educational Background - a PhD in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field; OR a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree with a strong Master's degree in foundational science.
* Teaching Experience - Minimum 3 years of experience teaching at the graduate or professional level, ideally within a health-sciences framework.
* Familiarity with digital tools and interactive learning managment systems (Canvas).
* Strong research background.
* Ability to utilize and/or develop evidence-based instructional and assessment strategies appropriate to the courses assigned.
* Ability to use a range of instructional strategies including case presentations/discussions, class or small group discussions, interactive presentations, lectures.
* Ability to use instruction presentation aids, such as Power Point.
* Ability to type and develop examinations using platforms, such as Exam Soft.
* Ability to use synchronous and asynchronous platforms including Microsoft Teams and Zoom to engage in online instruction, where applicable.
* Ability to work closely with other course instructors and Yearly Chairs to facilitate horizontal and vertical integration of the curriculum.
* Participate in Scholarship and Service activities as defined in TCC policy(ies), programmatic and regional accreditors, and Faculty Handbook.
* Willingness to expand his/her own knowledge base to fit the needs of the institution.
* Willingness to mentor and guide students.
* Whatever it takes attitude.

CONDITIONS:
Ability to handle the time requirements and pressures related to teaching and student interactions. Ability to handle multiple ongoing tasks and meet multiple deadlines.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to provide physical instruction (teach/lecture) in a classroom setting. Ability to provide physical instruction in laboratory settings, such as palpation, manipulation, orthopedics, physical rehabilitation, where applicable to assigned courses.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Standard classroom, physical lab, online, and office environment.
