ResponsibilitiesGeneral Description: To carry out the mission RMA - Texas by directing and managing the instructional program and supervising general operations for the assigned school site. To provide leadership which will result in an instructional program that meets the needs of all students while operating at a high academic level.
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
- Instructional Management:
Monitor the blended instructional program by reviewing teacher lesson plans, observing classroom instruction on a weekly basis, conferencing with staff, and analyzing assessment data related to student academic performance. Provide educational leadership focused on improving student performance and program effectiveness. - Work closely with Central Office Directors and staff to plan, implement, and evaluate the blended curriculum on a systematic basis. Ensure implementation of high performance program offerings that maximize student opportunities. Implement and monitor utilization of Blended Learning and technology to improve student, staff, and administrative productivity.
- Implement District curriculum/instruction staff development in a timely and effective manner.
- Supervise and develop the campus response to intervention (RTI) effort in a timely and meaningful way that advances student success.
- Schedule and administer local ARD, LPAC and 504 committee meetings/hearings, providing notice to parents as required by law. Schedule Instructional Assistants and Special Education teachers according to ARD requirements.
- Monitor special education data submissions (including weekly review of teacher activity in the RMA special education software system) by teachers and ensure the confidentiality and security of all special education records. Ensure IEP data is uploaded by teachers and vetted well in advance of ARD committee meetings.
- Secure and insure accuracy and timely updates of student cumulative files.
- Expedite the process of gathering TREX requests within tight timelines.
- Monitor teacher grade submissions each week to ensure compliance with RMA policies and administrative directives.
- Support and advance the RMA mission with teachers in a way that increases student success within the approved curriculum and staff development process.
School/Organizational Climate:
- Utilize metric data to ensure required student enrollment and attendance levels. Initiate and regularly assess programs to actively recruit students.
- Project a supportive campus environment to assist in establishing and maintaining a positive teaching and learning experience.
- Work collaboratively with central office personnel, other directors and contractors.
- Communicate with staff, students, and parents in a clear and effective manner, demonstrating skill in working with students, staff, and parents to successfully resolve conflict.
- Develop activities that recognize and honor students, staff, and community volunteers for their service and accomplishments.
- Develop, implement, communicate, and manage a student discipline plan that encourages and rewards positive student behavior. Ensure compliance with school codes of conduct by enforcing disciplinary actions up to and including suspension and expulsion when warranted for safe operation.
- Monitor student attendance and devise and implement strategies to improve attendance.
- Provide leadership to all aspects of the school and its programs.
Personnel Management & Internal Communications:
- Maintain regular and effective communication with the RMA Central Office and work closely with staff to develop teamwork for increased efficiency and compliance in all areas.
- Work with Human Resources to maintain approved staff levels by recruiting, selecting, compensating, orienting, training, and managing employees in compliance with state, federal, and district EEO and Fair Labor Standards Act. This includes vetting applicants and existing staff for compliance.
- Ensure all employee paperwork and personnel management reports are processed accurately and timely.
- Regularly communicate and ensure staff compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Define and communicate expectations for staff (routine procedures, classroom management, instructional strategies, and communication with the public, and individual contributions to positive staff morale).
- Observe and document job performance, provide development supervision, and conduct performance evaluation conferences with staff members.
