Power Supervisor

Electrical Power Supervisor – Industrial Manufacturing Facility, Pasadena, Texas

• Provide indirect supervision of contract power electricians; oversee maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs on electrical power distribution equipment.
• Serve as the interface and oversight for contract employees on standard shift, ensuring tasks are completed within timing, quality, efficiency, and cost guidelines.
• Plan and assign routine maintenance activities, breakdown repairs, and troubleshooting, establishing priorities based on maintenance plans.
• Prepare and issue safe work permits for plant electrical power distribution areas and monitor compliance with safety procedures.
• Monitor quality of maintenance work, enforce adherence to safety procedures, and document results.
• Coordinate short‑term activities such as shift schedules, job priorities, material availability, and preventive inspections.
• Coordinate with Operations, other maintenance crafts, and planning/scheduling of contract personnel to minimize disruption to plant production.
• Select, organize, train, and motivate the labor force to ensure consistent quality and safe work practices.
• Recommend improvements in equipment, methods, and procedures; develop spare part plans and coordinate off‑site repairs.
• Review and provide feedback on new project documents for electrical power distribution installations.
• Collect and analyze power consumption data, compile reports, and distribute plant‑wide.
• Use SAP to execute notifications, maintenance plans and work orders for daily activities.
• Coordinate weekly work schedules with power team planner/scheduler and assist power engineer with technical applications.
• Act as primary resource for power support of investigations, corrective actions, and audit items.

• Familiar with industrial plant electrical power distribution systems.
• Knowledgeable in substation transformers, medium/low voltage switch gear, power feeders, rectifiers, load‑break switches, SEL relaying, KWH meters and measurements.
• Experience with NEC 70, NFPA 70E.
• Designated owner of assigned systems, assigning support from power electricians.
• Support engineering staff with verification of field installations, testing procedures, and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Promote safe work practices, partner with local vendors, and provide status updates to management.
• Proficient in low‑ and medium‑voltage electrical applications/installation and recommend improvement ideas.

• Minimum 5years of direct supervision of power electricians required; 10years preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; some college desirable; documented formal training preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and team orientation.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and respond to call‑outs.
• Physical ability to climb ladders and stairs, walk, bend, stoop, wear PPE, and respond to visual/audible alarms.
• Ability to receive verbal and written direction and implement without direct supervision.
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking English.
